Many of us Ubisoft fans are excited about the upcoming free-to-play mobile game The Division: Resurgence. While we’re still waiting for an official release date for 2023, there’s plenty of behind-the-scenes action. We’ve seen some leaks and publisher information, giving us a taste of what’s to come.

To keep you in the loop, we’ve decided to put everything we know about The Division: Resurgence so far into one article. As we receive more news, we’ll be sure to update you with future articles.

Background to The Division: Resurgence

We saw Tom Clancy’s The Division appear in 2016 with massive success. It was the fastest-selling game in the franchise at the time with many console players loving the RPG shooting action

The Division: Resurgence is Ubisoft’s attempt to dominate the mobile gaming market in the same way. You’ll be able to play in the same perspective, being able to move and shoot on your handheld device. However, it’s not a direct port. The game will feature a brand new story set in New York and Washington D.C.

Platforms and release date

We don’t have a release date for The Division: Resurgence as yet, but we know it should be in 2023. Alpha testing has come and gone, which is why we have insight into what’s coming in the mobile game. It will release on both Android and iOS devices, but Ubisoft still needs to let us know what the final operating system requirements will be.

Factions and storyline

While the first game was set in New York, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 featured Washington D.C. It seems Ubisoft is planning to take The Division: Resurgence to both locations. Fortunately, we’ll see a brand new storyline that connects to both of these titles.

There will be new factions rising, which seems to have started while gamers were busy in Washington D.C. with part 2. This means that newbies and veterans will have the same experience when the mobile game launches next year. It will be a fresh start for everyone to enjoy.

What modes will be available in The Division: Resurgence?

As far as the betas for The Division: Resurgence showed us, Dark Zone will be available as a PvPvE arena. There will also be a PvP mode called Conflict. You’ll be able to challenge other players with several sub-modes, such as Domination and perhaps even Capture the Flag.

These are only a few modes mentioned during the beta testing, but Ubisoft says more are coming. We can expect Skirmishes, and I’m sure there will be many other multiplayer options. There isn’t any news on how the tiers work as yet.

Impressive visuals in an open-world setting

With single- and multiplayer modes available, you’ll have plenty of time in the campaign to explore the various regions. You can explore at your own pace, but don’t forget that you have missions to complete. The Division: Resurgence is set to provide a lengthy adventure, which is why it’s so hard to believe it will be free.

Of course, I’m only talking about launch-day missions. As with most mobile multiplayer games, I’m sure Ubisoft has plans to add content in the future. Maybe if they make a new The Division sequel on console with a new city, we might see the new location arrive on mobile. It’s a possibility with how developers expand content these days.

What the gameplay looks like

Ubisoft was kind enough to share some gameplay footage from The Division: Resurgence closed alpha testing. When you watch the video below, you’ll notice the weapon and crafting stations at the base. You’ll only head out into the city once you accept an objective, which means you’ll be safe from fire until then.

You can also see the basic layout of the screen icons. There’s a detailed skill tree, and you can quickly select these abilities on the battlefield. Enemy NPCs are smart, and each type has a specific way of dealing with agents like you. You’ll need to learn their strengths and weakness to quickly take them out.

Is there a closed beta for The Division: Resurgence

One of our recent news articles reveals the details of the closed beta for The Division: Resurgence. If you head to the link in that article, you’ll be able to register for the testing of the mobile game. However, it won’t work on all phones since you’ll need high specifications to run the detailed graphics and gameplay.
